In the run up to the 1860 Presidential Election, Abraham Lincoln assured his Republican nomination with the first of his three eternally famous speeches, this one at Cooper Union in New York City.  The most famous phrase became known in history books as the memorable title: “A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand.”  (The phrase derives from the Gospels of both Mark and Matthew.)

In my book about Socrates, and in a number of earlier essays on this website, I use the phrase: “The Philosophically-Rooted Faithful Beliefs that inform and motivate people (or society).”

Two essays ago, on this website, on July 27 in a brief essay entitled “Social Epistemology – The Nature of Societal Beliefs,” the two contradictory alternatives as publicly expressed ‘faithful beliefs’ that operate in every society in which there is no ongoing Civil War tearing society apart were briefly defined.

One is based on (SOCIAL EQUALITY) Individual Liberty, Reason and the universal expectation of Sincerity in all important communication.  (That means uncorrected lying is intolerable.)

The alternative system is based on a Ruling Class imposing socially acceptable communication without publicly expressed contradictions being tolerated.  Because Reason, Personal Sincerity and Individual Liberty are not mandatory, the Ruling Class is invariably dominated by the most Narcissistic Collective at the pinnacle of power.

In a wonderful TV movie (“Every Woman’s Dream”) from 1996 starring Kim Cattrell and Jeff Fahey, a classically narcissistic pathological lying grifter makes a ten or more year professionally rewarding career out of ‘political activism’ before reality catches up to him.  Then he compulsively murders the second of his two coterminous wives and then gets to spend the rest of his life in rather pleasant criminal incarceration.

Since this movie is from 1996, portraying a character who (right out of college) begins his lucrative career and life-style in the 1970s, old-fashioned definitions of psychiatric disorders are still operative.  (The medical sex-change of children lunacy and countless other non-rational approved psychiatric redefinitions are 10 to 25 years into the future.)  (Until the 1970s or 1980s, for example, Exhibitionism and Voyeurism were considered neurotic or even psychotic disorders.  In today’s world of Fake Scientific Professional Psychology and Psychiatry, such behaviors are considered normal – even preferential.  Personal shyness about such behavior has become largely socially unacceptable.)

Near the end of the movie, what was still, as late as 1996 considered the ten common characteristics of the ‘Narcissistic Personality Disorder’ were recited by a professional investigator who had tried to help the Kim Cattrell character before she was murdered by the Jeff Fahey character.  Those ten characteristics (all being present in the murderer) are as follows:

1. Reacts to criticism with feelings of rage
2. Takes advantage of others to achieve his or her ends
3. Has a grandiose sense of self-importance
4. Has fantasies of unlimited success and power
5. HAS A SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT
6. Obsessions of wanting more and more
7. DESIRES TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH PEOPLE OF POWER
8. Lacks empathy
9. Preoccupation with self-gratification
10. Requires constant attention and adoration.

You should reference all of these ten characteristics every time you hear something said by anyone and everyone in Authority (Media, Politics, Government, Teachers, Professors or anyone else perceived as a ‘Leader’) say anything that does not make ‘sense’ to you (that is you personally – not your social peers and you collectively) – especially when the prattling  ‘Authority’ adheres to it, and even ‘doubles down’ on repeating it.

‘Not making sense’ is likely to be clichéd speech that you have heard hundreds of times – but never seriously thought of independently as to its content describing your understanding of real human nature and how it operates.  More than forty years ago, I repeatedly heard ‘news media’ reports to the effect that: new ‘scientific studies’ had (yet again!) proven that ‘capital punishment has no deterrent effect!’  Nothing could be even more contradictory to the actuality of Human Nature – yet I never encountered the expression of ‘doubt’ – other than me yelling at the radio or television that was trumpeting the Big Lie.

[In the last week, we have observed several 9/11 terrorist murderers desperately trying to avoid execution by pleading guilty, with life imprisonment, after as much as 22 years of Lawyer Bullshit.  I thought they had earned the right to go straight to Paradise as Islamic martyrs for the Great Cause!]

The fake science called ‘Behavioral Science,’ a Psychology-Sociology-Political ‘Science’ joint academic project to oppress the majority of just common people with Narcissistic Authoritarian Personality Disorder LIES, has been influencing the Bureaucracy and Professional Politicians of Big Government for decades.

(It got slightly exposed twenty years ago during the reign of Fake Conservative David Cameron in the UK, and then went back underground never to be seen by the common citizen public ever again.  BUT IT IS THERE!!)

And it gives great confidence to Depraved Narcissistic Liars of the Ruling Class.  They have no need to understand it – only to use it to condescendingly, insultingly lecture common people as to what they must accept – OR ELSE!!  Today’s most performed Big Lie is spread all over Great Britain and Ireland:  THERE IS NO TWO-TIER RULE OF LAW!!  (i.e., Shut the f..k up, or else!)
